Ring-necked Duck

This male Ring-necked Duck was hit by a car in Canyon County and found stuck in the grill.
Mr Miracle managed to survive the collision with no fractures, only pelvic bruising. He is in good flesh and will be watched and kept until ready for release, which will be sooner than later due his amazing survival skills. Many of his species are seen around Boise and the valley in the winter months.

This orphaned Coot was found in pretty bad shape as a hatchling. Its prognosis was poor, but with the excellent care by Susan and Jennifer and the rest of our bird center staff; this little guy flourished and was released. (see coot video on this site)
