Flickers
Top 2 photos by Kelsey Tatton.
A tree was cut down and along came with it, a nest of 4 baby flickers. The person who brought them in, cut the portion of the tree and brought the whole log in to the bird center.
Flickers are quick to imprint so they were put in a basket with little human interaction except for the hand fed formula they were given. As they grew they were transferred to the aviaries until they were fully flighted. They were released at the Ruth Melichar Bird Center.
