Interested in Volunteering?

We wouldn’t survive without our volunteers. We are so grateful for their commitment and devotion to the center, year after year. With an intake this past summer of 250 birds per week, their help was immeasurable. This video is a look at what goes on during the summer season. For more details, see below.

As with all volunteer work with animals, there is a lot of cleaning involved. Scrubbing cages and perches, cleaning outdoor enclosures, changing cages and aviaries as well as food preparation and laundry are just a few of the daily chores.

The Bird Center is open 7 days a week, spring and summer from 8am to 8pm. Annually we rehabilitate over 3,000 birds and waterfowl, 300 mammals and field over 5,000 calls a year regarding injured, orphaned and nuisance wildlife.
